Default Vacuum Reservoir Replacement - Rough Idle Now

My vacuum reservoir had the mounting feet broken so I had previously just zip tied it to the windshield washer reservoir. Finally bought a new replacement so that I could mount it behind the bumper. I need longer hose so I bought some and replaced it. Now it idles incredibly rough but doesn't throw any CEL's. This is the only thing I had replaced on the vehicle so I know this is where the issue is, but not sure how to fix it. I pulled the elbow off the reservoir to ensure it was tight. Then I pulled the hose from the T running along the passenger inner fender and reinstalled.

Any other suggestions on what to look for?

If you pull the hose off the reservoir, and with the engine running, can you feel suction on that hose?

What year is this XJ?

91 to 96? Did you bump the MAP tube while changing the vacuum line?

(pre 91 no cell, post 96, no MAP tube)

It is a 96. When removing the hose form the reservoir I do feel suction.

As for MAP tube, no I don't think so, that would be near the TB, correct?

Hook your old one back up in place. If it runs fine, sounds like you have a bad canister.
