Vacuum reservoir gone!
I put on an aftermarket bumper back in October and foolish me just decided to zap strap the vacuum reservoir to the horn bracket. Needless to say it eventually got too cold outside and the zap strap failed causing the reservoir to fall off somewhere never to be seen again. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything I could do instead of purchasing a new one (I have no scrap yards within a reasonable distance of where I live) from the stealership. I was thinking of running the vacuum line into a small plastic bottle or something but not sure if it would hold up seeing as the plastic is very thin.

LOL. The 2000 xj I just bought has an aftermarket front bumper on it, the person who installed it stuck a bolt in the vacuum line that was supposed to attach to the reservoir..... Lucky for me, instead of just junking the Reservoir, they conveniently just set it over next to the airbox, not attached to anything. That is now where it lives . Cruise control and heater functions all work surprisingly well.

Renix has two separate compartments with check valves in the ball. (one side for cruz and the other for HVAC). Later (like 95-96) Idk, At some point the check valve, (s?) move to the lines. The "bottle" can be mounted anywhere. Some Renix owners put it below the coolant expansion bottle. (One of my 90's has an ABS pump there though).
