vacuum lines
 

so the 4x4 in my 89 xj has been out of comission for a while. i finally traced it out to a cracked yellow vacuum line right at the transfer case control switch. im just wondering if any of you guys know where i can buy the new vac lines. i cannot find them anywhere its driving my crazy any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!

id try just regular vacuum hose u can get at any parts store

yea i was thinkin that too but there isa rubber plug on the switch that the lines attach to i dont know how to attach em to that any ideas?

napa online carries the complete kits for about $30.00

is the plug like L shaped and the line pushes into it
if so ive done it 2 was one is take the plug off and slide the new line directly into the port and the second was cut a piece off the old line say a inch and a half 2 inches and stick one end into the rubber plug and the other end inside the new vac hose you know useing the small piece of the old as a coupler
now ive used both of those ways on other vac connections ive never messed with the the connection point your talking about so is that what you got goin on the or different

hudson, its a round plug with four prongs comin of it and each vac line is attached a prong the coupler idea could work though

you wouldnt happen to know a part number for the kit from napa would you? btw that is a sick xj you got there! i like it alot

well i just fixed my 4x4. =] i used a piece of hose to couple the broken ends together. then found there was still no vacuum on the yellow(engagment) line. turned out to be the metal lines attached the sub frame were plugged with sand or mud. blew it out and now it engages and disengages great!
