I have been trying to track down where this high pitched squeal is coming from under the hood. Tonight I have realized that it has to be a vacuum leak, its not a bearing of any type i know that for sure. I know its not like a bearing on the serp belt system because I have the belt taken off at the moment. If anyone has any like ideas of a vacuum line that could make a very loud squeal, please let me know.

Try giving all the bolts on your intake man. a tighter turn. My jeep was screaming for awhile couldnt figgure out what on earth it was. Read around, found out the gasket had a small pinch leak in it. Give it a try see what happens.

 

try the vacuum ball up behind the front bumper. Mine had a quarter size hole in it.

 

I don't have that vacuum ball any longer and that could really be the squeal, because around the time i removed all my a/c components, I also had that ball get all cracked so I took it out, i will be looking around today a lot more for the lines that used to be connected to the ball. I will also look around the intake for leaks, I wouldn't be super mad if that leaked because I would leave that till next winter with I remove the intake and exhaust manifolds. My exhaust manifold is cracked in like 3 or 4 spots so I want to replace it with a new one, but I am considering rebuilding my engine next winter.

take a can of starting fliuld and spray around your vacum lines. when the engine idle goes up you found the leak

 

Use carb cleaner instead, less likely to ignite and burn your Jeep to the ground.
