Vacuum cans

Why are there so many vacuum canisters, I want to know what they're there for my buddy has the same year comanche(1988) and it doesn't have any

The vacuum canisters work as a way to "store" a vacuum to power your vents and whatnot. The effect of the reservoir is that you don't lose your vent controls when you lay on the gas. You don't need one (as a matter of fact, mine doesn't have one.), but they're just a convenience thing.

I've got three of the freakin things, I'll find out what they go to one way or another

I only know of the one behind the passenger side of the front bumper. Where are your others located. I suspect they are NOT vacuum cannisters.

I'm not sure, but the 88's may still have them up on the right shock tower. I have two on mine. And they look like large tin cans.

I relocated mine to the fire wall next to the overflow bottle.
