Vacuum Ball Line

I was moving too quickly under the hood and caught the line that goes to the vacuum ball (relocated due to aftermarket bumper). It snapped. Anyone know what this is called, have a part number, or know where I can purchase it? I would prefer to just pick up a new part.

Just cap it off and head to the parts store. They [should] sell various sizes of vacuum line, usually on a display somewhere. You can also use some rubber tubing to reconnect both ends, just make sure its a snug fit to prevent vacuum leaks. Buying extra line and even a couple fittings/elbows for the toolbox is a good idea. That way you have them should you need to make another repair.

Thanks! I seem to be back up and running. I felt like an idiot after I read your suggestion! I have vacuum stuff in the garage but didnt think to apply it to the broken plastic line.

From research it looks like signs of issues with my fix would be related to cruise, idle, or AC? I don't have cruise, AC and idle seem normal. Any thing else I should keep an eye out for?

If you have a vacuum leak your HVAC will only blow from the defrost vents. If it blows where it should then you should be good.

You always have vacuum at idle. What the ball does is hold some amount for when you have your foot on the gas and vacuum drops. Earlier have a split ball with two check valves in the "football". One side for hvac and the other for cruse. Later have the check valve, (s?") in the line. Doesn't matter where it is as long as the lines to it don't leak. The vacuum measured on a gauge, and/or the sound of the engine or RPM should not change if you crimp/clamp the line to the ball. If it does something is leaking somewhere.

Like Limited points out, it will only blow out the defrost vents with no vacuum.

Thanks. I have air blowing out of all vents so I think I am covered.
