Default universal trailer wiring?

anybody wired their jeep up for a trailer? i got a universal kind and some extra wire ( since i couldnt find the plug and play kind at auto zone). Im kind of confused at the moment, i know the wire harness is behind the spare, but im not sure how to wire it up, any body know of a guide or anything?

Ask the parts dude at the counter to look up the plug-n-play connector (or go to etrailer.com) for your specific year model XJ. Either way, probably have to order it....it just plugs into the factory connector behind the panel behind the spare tire.

4 pin universal is:

green = right
yellow = left
brown = tail/side marker
white = ground

Just order the plug-n-play connector, very simple.

I got my plug and play connector from the local RV dealer, it was even in stock. I think I paid like 18.00 for it.

P.S. It is also easy to run the wire if you take the taillight out too.
