unbolting rear springs
I had a lot of trouble with the front control arm bolts and had to cut them off.. am I going to have the same trouble with the rear springs? I don't see a way to get the back of the bolt if this is the case.
I have been soaking the back of the bolt for a few days now and I just tried to go out there and break it free with a 1/2" breaker bar, no lock, so I put a jack underneath the breaker, still no luck, the breaker bar was actually starting to bend.. I thought I was going to be able to drive this jeep tomorrow but it is not looking so good right now, what are my options? Any tips? |
they may be frozen in the bushing...a impact would be great.

pn an heat on the nut then hammer the bolt out.
I had no problems with mine they loodked bad but came out mint. |
OK, so they were.'t too bad.. only one was seized in the bushing so I burned out enough of the bushing to get a vice-grip in there and heated the bushing real hot with mapp gas, then I latched the vice-grip on the bushing and cranked away, it took a lot of effort but eventually it came out.. I damaged the first 2 or 3 threads of the weld nut so I had to go get a tap, if anyone needs one for future reference it is M14x2.00
