trouble turning
 

Hey guys,
I have a 1999 jeep cherokee first and foremost. When in 4x4 im having a terrible time turning. I know this is normal to not have as good a turning radius in 4wd compared to 2wd but my jeep is just terrible. I have wider tires, 16x8 rims i think 235/60 tires...not positive on the tire however. I took it to the shop today becuase with all the snow lately, and snow banks everywhere Im finding that in some places its hard to navigate. The shop told me that it was normal, which I believe. My issue is that living in NYC, all the small streets, and certain turns that need to be made with out smacking head on into a city bus, driving in 4wd becomes a real hassle. What I was wondering is that is there a way to improve 4wd turning radius, I hear that cv joints are better then u joints for turning, but is there a conversion for Cherokees to put cv joints on?

Oh and to give you an idea, the steering wheel turns 1.5 times when cut...in 4wd going around a turn it only turns little more then .5 a turn.

CV's are smoother But I don't like their relibility. do you wheel this thing or just a city driver?

do you have the 231 or 242 T-Case? the only reason I ask is if you have the 231 the tcase locks in the front and rear drive shaft and could be your problem also the 231 isn't good for driving on in 4H unless you have a low traction surface. if you dont know which you have the easiest way is look at your tcase shifter do you have 2 4H's or 1?
