Trim Moldings?

Does anybody know for sure if the trim moldings that run down the sides of the doors on the 98-01 classics and sports are held in place by just adhesive glue or are they held in by screw or bolts. bout to take my off but it will save me the headache if i know ahead of time. thanks

Nothing but 3M tape holding those on. Do a search and you'll see how easy it is to take them off. Easiest I have found is to use a piece of fishing line to "saw" them off.

I removed mine a week or so ago its just 3M foam tape but if you want to save your thumbs i went to Oreillys and get a stripe eraser its a disk you put in your drill and it takes off the tape left on the jeep

I just took mine off a couple of weeks ago.

I did it just using a plastic scraper covered in tape, some carb and choke cleaner, some goo-gone, and a few thumbnails.

It took about 2 hours to get both sides. It wasn't fun though, but the XJ looked a lot better afterwards.

fair warning, it doesnt always turn out how you would like. just take a look at my pics.....and YES the eraser wheels is the best thing to have for this sort of thing. although when i bought mine it cost around 30-40 bones.

Those eraser wheels work great, but they can burn the paint in you're not careful.

x2 but as long as you use a normal drill it wont do it so bad....although it does take longer
