Hey guys working on a 99 cherokee with an auto trans. It isn't shifting into park so we are adjusting the shift linkage. How do you open this clamp?

it looks something more like you'd pull the cable back through it than open it up

Soak with WD-40 or equivalent first. I used a thin flat blade screwdriver. Was just careful surely a Dealer or JY only part. The center section did come out the problem you are encountering was resolved on my 97 XJ.

Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. We adjusted it but it is still not locking the driveshaft. We replaced the nss and banged the **** out I the nss collar to get the old one off. We are thinking we broke the parking pin somehow
