Transmission oil cooler line came loose
Hello guys,
I recently replaced the radiator on my 2000 jeep xj and had to cut the trany cooling line because it wasnt disconnecting, I clamped it nice and tight or so I thought and all was well.
Today wife called me and told me car suddenly lost drive and she pulled over, tried to move it couple of times and couldn't so she shut the engine. It's dangerously cold so I agreed for her to keep the engine running to stay warm until I got there. When I did a puddle of tranny oil and te tranny cooler line I clamped was off.
My question is, you guys think the tranny is shot? Obviously I can't now until I plug it and fill it up and cross the fingers but I would like to know the chances since its right after Xmas and we are broke.
Thanks

So basically what happened was a sort of poor mans flush? God I hope so, I used the existing pipe I am assuming that's the downfall pipe wasn't long enough and engine moved pulled and got it off.
I guess I could clamp a new pipe in place an fill it up through the dip stick, my next question is how many liters or quarts should I put in before I can put it to neutral to check the level? Or is it safe to check as long as I am not driving?
Thanks for the reply.. Hopefully te tranny is not bad.
