Transmission Control Module
I have to replace the TCM in my 98 Cherokee sport. There is a number on the right hand side of the TCM that reads "98C." I am looking at several used TCM's for sale. The part number is correct, but not all of them have "98C" on them. The cheapest one i found says "98E." Will this 98E still work in my Jeep?

The last letter is the revision. I would assume a later revision will work just because it has the newer software. It is possible yours was reflashed to the E software way back when but unlikely unless its on a sticker under the hood.
