Moves the shift points up.
The "Comfort" setting is also said to wear down the clutches in the Trans faster, because it "feathers" the clutches instead of slamming them.

I run around in comfort. If it was really true then why would they make the less wear and tear in power? It just doesn't make sense. But I understand where the idea originates.

Because the clutches are allowed to slip in comfort for a "smoother" shift, which creates more wear.
In power, the clutches are slammed closed faster. Allowing alot less slippage, which means less wear.

I wish all towing packages came with dana 44's. lolI have the 8.25 with a stock towing package. I have a 91. I think they only put the switch in the xj for a few years and thats it. I dont understand the whole thing but why would they make a switch to wear out your tranny faster maby money I dont know?

Thats not what I said anyway.
I said I have HEARD that it could possibly wear out the clutches faster.
Did I ever say that was the definitive Answer? NO
I have HEARD thats what it does, just cause thats what I have been TOLD does not mean its true.

See?
