ok so my 99 had a bad 242 tcase so im swaping in a 242 from a 91 that i got from nick.
got my old one out today and noticed a few differences, one is the tailshaft isnt the same but i think i can swap that on to the new one...i hope
second is the electrical plug is in a different spot and the connector is different but i think i can swap that out too.. i hope

IN '97 Jeep changed the T-case to not be in closed anymore for the out put. They should be interchangeable. The older one is also less likely to have drive line vides when lifted.
