when i shift my 92xj into 4wd i have to play with it a awhile to get it to engage into full time, it doesnt have a problem with part time high, but it wont go into part time low most of the time at all, i went under it today and noticed the linkage was loose at one of the grommets, ive looked all over for the part but theirs like 6 different grommets that i saw so i have no idea which one to buy, the loose one is one that is connected to the body not a free floating connection, any help would be nice, its a NP242 if that helps at all

 

do you put in neutral before trying to shift to 4low i dont wanna make ya look silly but some people dont know that when they first get a 4wd

 

o yeah, but i heard that when its any of the high range gears its better to leave it in drive so the gear can change over

 

yeah the neutral thing is just for 4 low
