So, cracked the tail cone on my jeep when the drive shaft came off. Until this point I had lifted the jeep around 4" and never adjusted the linkage.
Well I got a cone for the case (242 btw) and put it on. The speedo cone was from a ZJ so there was no spot for the shift sensor, so I just left it hanging.
Since this happened I went wheeling and about half way through the trip I noticed I wasn't going anywhere in 4low. Came to find out that only the rear tires were spinning. Could put it back into 2hi and then back into 4lo and it would work for a little while.
Next I added a trans case drop and adjusted the shifter linkage to what seemed to be good. Took it out and still the same situation.
When you are just putting it will stay in 4lo. When you hammer on it it will pop out. If I put it into reverse, I have 4wd everytime. Go right back to drive and no 4lo. Also can be a pain to get into 4parttime, but 4FullTime works just fine.
Now I'm just wondering if I've messed the tc up, or if it's possible its still a linkage problem? Don't really see it being anything to do with the fact that the cone is from a ZJ.

It's not good, but it's also not shot. It could potentially be the culprit because it's not only when I mash on it but also seems it happens when I hit decent bumpy sections under steady or light throttle.
Never put to much thought into it since it started happening all at once.
