Transfer case fluid change ?
I just bought this 89 cherokee a couple of weeks ago. In the last week I have been doing maintenace on it.. oil change, trans service, diff service...etc. Yesterday I got to the trans case (231 J)....the fluid was low and it was pretty dark. So I drain it. (yes it was on level ground) I look in the manual and it says 2 quarts of dexron III. I could only get about a 1 1/4 in it before it would start coming out of the fill hole. Will all of the fluid drain out or should I have used a suction gun to pull the fluid.
Thanks for any help.

Thats about all I could get in mine too, I 0 fluid in it after reassembly.
I wouldn't sweat the manual being wrong here.
Good Luck with the XJ.
