2 you have 2 different 4 Highs? If you do you have a NP242 and if you only have one 4high you have a NP231
If you have an auto its the AW-4 and if its an manual its the AX15
If you have an auto its the AW-4 and if its an manual its the AX15

Look at your 4wd shifter.. If it Goes 4 Hi to 4 full-time to neutral to 4 lo then you have a 242 you do not have the 4 full-time then you have the 231 t-case..As for tranny if it's an auto it's an AW4, manual I have no clue.

so when looking for a skid plate for my t case does it matter the years of the jeeps? as long as its for the np231 t case right?
