Trans/ T-case shifter bulbs

Anyone know the bulb type/code for the transmission and transfercase shifter lights? I'm thinking 74 or 94, but not sure. Can anyone confirm?

I can confirm they are 194-type, just replaced mine with LEDs last week.

That's a good question. Maybe someone with a 97-01 can chime in. I'll bet they're the same.

Just so you know, 168s and 194s are interchangeable. The 168s are .35A and produce 3 candlepower with a lifespan of ~1,500 hours. 194s are .27A, produce 2 candlepower and last ~2,500 hours.

Turns out it was a 658 bulb

Since we are on light bulbs. Does anyone know where are the light bulbs for the heater control. I have a 96. Also what bulbs it takes?

658s are also interchangeable with 194s and 168s. Physically, the bulbs are virtually identical. The only real difference is output and lifespan. The OE bulbs in my '89 were 194s which are not quite as bright as the 168s but last much longer. The 658s are like .04 amp with a 15,000 hour use cycle so if you want them bright, go with the 168s, if you don't care about brightness and would prefer never having to change the bulb again, go with the 658s.

Or pay a little extra for LEDs as someone above has done and get the best of both worlds.

Pull the stereo out and the bulb plugs into the right rear corner area of your heater control.
