Trans Mode Switch Amber Light

Trans Mode Switch Amber Light
I have a 87 Cherokee XJ with automatic trans and 4.0L. The amber light no longer comes on when "power" is selected...I cannot tell if the trans is actually changing shift points or not between comfort.power...is it possible to just have a burned amber light bulb?...or is the indicator light not coming on also indicate the transmission shift points are not changing?

I have the same switch,mine worked when I got it,now it doesn't.I have looked but can't find a fuse,I think you have to change the switch.I haven't yet just haven't gotten around to it.
