So, I don't know what lies inside, and won't know where stuff is, or how the clips work, when I only have a partial blocked view inside.

Don't cut the pipe. Been there, done that, always leaked a bit after doing so and the dip stick will snag every single time you try to put it back in when checking trans fluid. When I rebuilt my transmission, I bought another pan from the jy and did it right. If you have a hard time separating it, unbolt the tube from the bell housing and drop the entire assembly (tube & pan) as one. Once down, you'll be able to separate it with the right tools and a few twists

Just undo the bolt holding the stick..let the pad hang with tube attached.. It will have enough play once its just hanging.
You will be able to move it out of the way enough for what you need to do.

Found this cruising Ebay. Give you an idea of what you are dealing with. That is the upper part.

I need to man up and get this done, or pay someone to do it.
Jeep is now shifting weirdly and CEL has been on for months,
Why is there not a single repair on the XJ that is just "normal" ??

But, I don't really even know how to envision this.
The pan has a dipstick attached to it.
It sounds like it's a PITA to detach the dipstick from the pan.
So, if I can't remove it, just leave it attached, and unbolt the clamp holding the upper part of the dipstick?
Then all of it drops down? It don't come all the way down, since the tube will snag, bt I will be able to remove the solenoids?
Is the above correct?

This shouldnt be that big of a deal. Like any job where you could have stuck parts, just slide under and spray some penetrating oil just above the joint in the dipstick tube. I would do this a couple of times so the stuff can get in there and start unsticking stuff. And if you have enough mecanical ability to replace the solenoids, why not just give it a try? Worse case you have to just button it back up and your only out some tranny fluid. No big deal.

Is there not ONE video or thread that shows HOW to replace the tranny solenoids?
2,000 links that have guys talking for 20 minutes about how to wipe the pan magnets,
but not ONE link that explains how to actually swap the solenoid.
Is there a trick for disconnecting the wire? Or do you just rip it off ?
Wire connectors are the hardest part of automotive DIY.

You have no idea who you're dealing with, lol
Bimmer... take it to your mechanic and be done with it.

Just take it in.
Or, do it yourself, cry about how hard the bolts are to get out, then dropping the pan and how impossible that is, then drink a nonfat soy latte whilst pondering how to disconnect the wires, let alone remove the actual solenoid, (wait until after yoga class for THAT one), all to just take it to your mechanic, who makes more than a doctor and lawyer combined, lol...
Your choice.

Gave up, and put all the bolts back.
This car is hilarious to work on.
Taking it to a pro.
Just need to find a shop that doesn't just toss my solenoids in the garbage,
clear the codes, and charges me $500 for doing nothing.
