Tranny Problems... Need questions answered
So i have a 97 cherokee with 72k. When im driving and holding my speed right around 35 it seems like it kicks into neutral. The rpm goes up just a little. Then just recently it did it at 45ish and the rpm goes way up. I'm thinking it is possibly the torque converter but not sure. Right around x-mas I did a tranny flush with a machine but haven't had any issues till now. Any ideas? -Thx

Check your throttle-valve cable, sometimes called the kick-down cable. They sometimes get out of adjustment, which is easy to fix.
Otherwise it sounds like the trans flush might have plugged a passage causing loss of line pressure. Low pressure will cause slippage/internal damage. JMO

When it happens i usually let right off and it comes right back in. I had to drive it today because of the snow and got a check engine light. The code was the same as last time when i was having trouble. It was the transmission shift control sensor.(P7000 was the code). The guy that fixed it last time is going to take it thursday. Thanks for the imput about the shift cable cuz it might be a compound problem.
