trailer electric blows my fuse!
each time i plug in my trailer to my 2000 cherokee, it blows my 10amp No.7 fuse. i did notice that when i take out one tailight bulb, the other one works fine. but with both in the fuse blows the instatnt it is plugged in. each of the tailights have two wires coming out of them. there is also a ground wire connected to the trailer frame up by the tounge. i wondered if maybe the wires back by the lights needed to by switched from one to the other. wasnt sure if that would cause this or not. i have had the jeep plugged into another trailer before with working lights, so i know its not the cherokee.

Could be a couple things, like the trailer is either wired wrong or maybe the 10a just isnt enough.
1.) Have you been able to hook the trailer to another rig with success ?
2.) Also if you can get under there and follow the wires all the way to the front touching them. If the wires were able to move around they could have worn through the insulation covering and cause it to arc out and pop your fuse.
3.) What kind of trailer are we talking about ? Flat car hauler or one alot of moving parts, i.e. tilt bed either power or manuel.

Right, I knew that your jeep was hooked to another trailer and worked, I was wondering on the trailer side, Has another rig been hooked to the trailer thats blowing fueses with success?
