Track bar/Sway bar link replacement Q's
 

Had a few questions about replacing the track bar and sway bar links, and a few random questions. 1996 Cherokee Sport 3" lift

1) When I replace the track bar does it matter which end I bolt on first? Tie rod end to frame or sheared to axle? Also for the grease should I add it after I torque the bolt down to spec or add grease before.

2) I tried replacing sway bar links the other day got the nut off the passenger side, driver side bolt and nut ended up snapping off, but im having problems getting the bolt out on both sides, its like they are seized into place. I tried tapping them out with a hammer and big nail setter tool, used the torxbit tool but wouldnt budge. Would a pickle fork maybe work or any other suggestions. Also where can I get a replacement bolt for the sway bar links?

3) I replaced the Draglink, tierod bar, all TRE's, and steering stabilizer and took it to belle tire to get a front end alignment. As I was leaving I noticed on the paper with alignement specs they did it for a 1996 grand cherokee zj. They told me the alignment specs are the same for the xj, is this true?

1. Replace the axle end first. Get in, turn the wheel a few times and bolt up the frame (tie rod end) side once the axle is centered. Add grease after you torque the bolt down.

2. Don't think a pickle fork is going to do much good. Penetrating oil, heat and keep hammering. Get replacement hardware from the hardware store. Don't know exactly what size those bolts are.

3. I'm pretty sure the alignment specs are the same. Next time, take it to a shop that actually knows a thing or two about vehicles.
