Default TPS Troubles

Thanks for all the help so far. I did get to recheck today, and found 4.7 input, but could not get anything on the output. I take it that the the tps, is shot, or is there a fuse somewhere that could be bad. I did check it good, and did have contact with the wire, still no reading. Is there anything else I need to check before I get a new one. Like I said before, the not shifting just happened over a few days of not driving. Did check the kick down, and it was fine. Thanks for all of your help.

You did probe the wires with tps plugged in and the ignition on, right?your supply voltage is good, did you check the ground?

Yes, did have the key on. Ground is good. I just rechecked it, still 4.7, and .02 on the output. Nothing has changed since I checked it a couple hours ago, didnt remember what output was since it was so low when I posted earlier. It may have rained with the hood up, if that helps any. This is on an 89 4.0, aw4. Thanks for any help.

If you have tried adjusting it by rotating it clockwise or counterclockwise, and you still can't get the optimum 83% of your input, then I'd say it's time for a new TPS.
