Well today my gf and i went to whataburger, and out of nowhere i was waiting in line when suddenly my "check you guages" light came up and in less than a second my jeeps temp spiked all the way up and BOOM!..something exploded in my jeep and antifreeze went everywhere!!...and the result was this...
my radiator cracked and now i dont know if i might have possible engine damage....god i hope not..so anybody know where to get good radiators for cheap?.

That sucks! At least you know where it leaks... Sounds like you have blockage somewhere. Get an all metal radiator (CFS) when you purchase your new one.

No blockage, it's just a 12 year old stock radiator with a plastic tank. Replace the hoses and clamps at the same time you replace the radiator.

As long as you shut it off right after the "boom" there most likely isn't any damage to the engine. As stated above, replace the radiator along with the hoses and you should be good to go!

Agreed with the guys mentioning radiatorbarn! They have top notch stuff that won't break the bank. I got my all metal 2 row rad for I think $130ish last summer.

Do you notice if it runs cooler now? I plan to change my radiator soon in hopes that my jeep wont run as hot since its 17yrs old now.

My advice....stay away from Whataburger.....that place makes a lot of things go "BOOM". Also, ditch the GF, they only cut into the XJ budget. Seriously, I'm glad you got your issue resolved. Why they even make plastic radiators is beyond me....

Your tank cracked from over pressure, which usually means it boiled= steam. The radiator cap should have blown first. Make sure you change it with a 16psi OEM type.
