Tire Sizes

I have a stock 1999 XJ (sport) with stock 15" rims. I am looking at purchasing some Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on 17" rims. (The tire size is 265/75/17) Will they fit without rubbing or anything?

Largest tire that will give no clearance problems on a stock XJ is 235/75R15. That 265/75R17 is a lot taller and 1" wider. If you want to go with 17's you need to find one that is comparable to the 235/75R15.

Were these 17" rims already on a similar Jeep vehicle? It is rare that 17" wheels will have the correct bolt pattern for your Jeep. Perhaps you already checked on this.

More importantly, The 265/75/17 tires are too tall, and a little too wide, to fit your Jeep without a lift. You should be looking for 235/75r15 (your best fit), or at most a 30x9.5/r15
