Thanks again guys!
I understand the bolt pattern and the difference.
So if i were to pick up a pair of stock wrangler wheels I would have to get an adapter.
I think I might end up doing that because i like wider wheels for the more aggressive stance that it gives the vehicle.
Also, happy thanksgiving!

I've been trying to understand backspacing, but I don't think I get it...
From what I've gathered, backspacing is the distance from the edge of the rim to the point of contact with the axle, correct?

Are you sure it's a 235/75/17????? Because that closer to a 31" than any other tire that's been said in this thread lol and I'm not fully sure it's a real tire size either since there is no reference for it lol only on a converter chart can I find it lol

Apologies if I'm breaking any rules.
And please excuse my lack of understanding.
As of now my tires are all mix n matched but the same size. This has caused some scary skids and spins on turns as traction is lost.
I am stock running 235x75 r15 (which i believe are also stock). My question is what is the biggest tire size I can fit without rub or making modifications?

I'm saving the best old one for a same sized spare. The wranglers are like $84 apiece at walmart. Discount Tires gives a $50 rebate for black friday this weekend so total price including mounting and old tire disposal came to $367.
It starts getting pricier if I go larger because all of a sudden you are looking at rims also if the tire is much wider. This is just my daily driver with a 2" homebrew lift. It looks fine.

235 is the max distance between the outside of one sidewall to the inside of the other sidewall.
the second number is the percentage of the first number that is the sidewall height.
235* .75 =176.25mm betwee the rim and the outside of the tires.
bigger rim = bigger tire.

Ya refer to the other posts.... Again that tire size(you can plug it in if you want) comes up as 30.6 or 30.7 which most definitely bigger than 30"...... Lol

**235/75r15
Your right though, if it were with the 17 inch rims it would be close to 31, but with 15 its about 29.

If you still want wrangler wheels, I run older wrangler Moab wheels (16") and they IMO give the Jeep the perfect track. They look similar to the wheels you are looking for and they bolt right up too! The wheels go out to the edge of the flare but not much beyond if at all. I run street tires, so some all terrain tires might be a different story.

JeepMI, sounds as if MI is similar to CA. I run these Silverblades because i like the looks, but how i got them was on CL. $500 with a couple thousand miles on them, i find them pretty regular on there. Low miles with wheels, i was looking this weekend and there are another two that came on for about $600 and one set for $300. The cost of the adapters and a 2" poly lift will make up for it self shopping tires this way. Especially if it is a DD and occasional off road unit. Not only that there is usually five, after the first set you will always have spare wheels.

So does a 235/75-15 on stock rims fit a "92 XJ with out rubbing on the lower control arm? I'm lifted 2" have 31x10-15's that hit lower control arm at full tilt. Thanks I know this is a old thread but I searched & it was the best I could find.
