Default Tire Patch / Plug

Well i managed to puncture my first tire ever last night, and it wasn't even off road

must have hit a piece of metal or something off a construction truck

anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew if this type of puncture was fixable. It's an actual puncture, not a gash, and it's in one of my side lugs in my NEW tire

nope... side wall damage. you can throw a tube in and use it offroad as a spare but that tire for on road use is a goner... Hopefuly the place you bought them from has a warranty

Ya. I don't think you could find a tire shop to fix that. I've done it before but it didn't hold air very long. Do what 96 said, tube it and spare it, or warranty.

what about mushroom plugs? I don't think the hole on the interior is very big, maybe nail side. I could plug the hole with my finger

the sidewall has to much flex. there is no safe way to do it.

it is only good as a spare with a tube or to be recycled.... you need a new tire

It will compromise your and everyone else's safety if you do. They look fairly new so you might have a good chance for warranty.

Ok, not warranty, but there's a optional "roadside (something?) that you can get when you buy tires from certain retailers.

i'm having a local shop look at it Friday to see if it's repairable.
There wasn't a road hazard warranty available on M/T tires.

If nothing else, i'll use it as a trail spare.

Local Firestone store doesn't offer treadlife warranty or road hazard on a mud tire. Not saying that is that way everywhere but just FYI...

Road hazard, that's it. I didn't know they didn't have it for mt's? I just thought it was voided if off-roaded.

No shop will repair that tire for liability reasons. Noone will give up they're business for a $10 patch job
