ticking sound

Anybody have any ideas...my 89 xj has a ticking right under the front of the valve cover. As it warms up the ticking will come and go...and it is pretty loud. I understand I cannot adjust the valves..any miracle oil I can add or ? thanks

My guess is sticking lifters. Try seafoam

I'd say pull the valve cover off and take a look under there to see whats up. It will take only a few min. to take it off, but you should replace the gasket while you're at it. But I'd say Sticking lifters sounds likely

Id go with sea foam, and change the oil with high mileage and a quart of lucas. Then if that does not help pop the cover.
