I think I am having a TPS problem, too. Just failed inspection for 04 grand cherokee because check engine light won't turn off. Ran the self diagnostic (can't believe mechanic wanted $90 to run the test!!) and got back two codes both dealing with TPS. I'm pretty new to this whole working on my own car thing and I will admit that I have no idea where to find the TPS to check the wiring. The jeep does hesitate and jump every once in a while so I suspect I might actually need to replace the TPS. Any help on locating it would be much appreciated! THX!!

idle air control motor will cause it to start poorly and usually wont allow the engine to idle. You may try it. the good news is its a very easy install.

Can a tps act up then work ok? I've been having rough idle on start up and slight random missing then it runs fine after a few min on my 99 XJ... The tps was replaced a month or so ago but it was an autozone sensor and hoping I just got a crap sensor

Sounds like the upstream Oxygen Sensor is on its way out, or the O2S Heaters fuse is blown.

Check the fuse in the PDC marked O2S Heaters in the pic.

Just replaced both o2sensors I'll check that fuse though... If it's blown what would be the cause of it blowing?

Chafed/bare wires going to the O2S', or just a tired O2S.

Thanks for the info fuse was good, I replaced the "new" tps I put one about 2 months ago with a tps from the jeep dealership and it's running great... Goes to show you get what you pay for.
