throttle body cleaning

Can I put my throttle body in a cleaner tank normally used for carbs?

The reason I ask is that I read somewhere that the throttle body has a special coating on it and do not want to strip it with the wrong chemicals.

(of course I will be removing the IAC and TPS before I put it in the tank)

I used to clean mine with carb cleaner and a tooth brush. I wouldn't think it hurt anything.
