Thinking about trading my 96xj

I was thinking about trading my 96 xj for a 2000 xj. Id have to pay an extra $1000, along with my xj. Its a white 4-door, auto, with a recently rebuilt motor. It has 160,000 miles on mine. It has new rear shocks, fresh tune up, new transmission filter and fluid, new flowmaster exhaust and catalytic converter, new tailpipe, new brakes (shoes and pads), new alternator, battery, water pump, thermostat, crankshaft position sensor, pioneer sound system (2-12" subs, and new head unit, with 2 pioneer 6x9's, and bmw nitro's 6" front speakers), new headliner, 4 new tires ( LT 215-75-r15), and new distributor. (i may have left off a couple things) The body only has small scratches, and no dents. It runs like a dream but i wanted something more new. I want $3000 out of it, does that sound fair? The jeep Im looking at is in almost perfect body condition, and runs smooth (havent drove it yet). That xj is a black 2000 sport 2-door auto and sunroof. Don't know much about it yet, but i just wanted to know if my price was fair. Give me your opinion

The 2000-01 XJs are notorious for developing cracked heads.
Google "The 0331 club". There's a few polls regarding head numbers, year of model and what the dreaded 0331 club is.

It's a total crapshoot with the later models. I'd stick with a 96 I KNOW the history on is legit.
A freshly rebuilt motor ..... or a ; by design and casting flaw possibly catastrophic failure prone motor?
Maybe it's just me, but it's hard to drive with your fingers crossed all the time lol.
Could be the REAL reason they're selling it in the first place.

Stick with your rig. Is it the newer body style that you're liking i.e. the front grill, and "wraparound" bumpers?
You could mod yours to fit those. Junkyard parts are cheap mostly.
Heck, really for the 1000 you'd have to spend on the other XJ, you could mod/update yours AND get it painted whatever color ya want, or lift it..whatever.

The sunroof would be the deal breaker for me.

Thanks guys. Thats the kind of stuff thats a deal breaker for me. I hated head work whenever i rebuilt my motor. I was more concerned about the power windows and locks. I had a toyota camry before my jeep and thats the one thing i miss about it. I'll probally just redo my carpet and drop in some nicer seats. Im switching from grey to black interior.
