Ok Ok wait I looked @ your first pic and saw what that **** looked like and I realized I had the same crap in my cooling system. I broke off the petcock valve trying to drain it so i just pulled the hoses off. I tried reverse flushing the radiator with a garden hose...didnt work. So i just flushed the hell outta it with the hose the other way. anyway I used that prestone cleaner stuff and it finally has a good green fluid again. BUT it always smells like its overheating (u know that smoke smell) but IDK, could it be from the rear main dripping oil on the exhaust? I never really flushed the block much.

I might as well jump in here with the same problem, goldish scum in the coolant, trying to flush it out, this prob. just started, this thing will go from 210 to 260 in a split second and overheat, I figured ok thermostat stuck, new one, same thing. Brought it home put it in the garage, pulled the hoses and flushed it out and put a container of rad. flush, followed the instructions, heated the truck up for about 10 mins. pegged the temp gauge again. Electric fan turns on, water pump isn't leaking, seems like the thermostat stuck again, top hose was hot, bottom hose was cold. This thing has me scratching my head. Should I pull the thermostat out and flush it without it. Any input will be apprec.
