Are these rocker panels correct for my Jeep?

My jeep is 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport (4 door)

I'm unsure about the "non sport" detail in the description..
perhaps they mean 4 door only, not 2 door "sport" ???

I fired off an E-mail to them.... but in the meantime... any opinions?

Their prices are Great.... I'm hoping they will work for my 98

It would be nice to know what they mean by "non-sport model," but if it fits the '98 four door it should fit any '98 with four doors. Jeep did not alter the body panels between trim packages back then.

OK,
heres the scoop.

John,

The outer rocker panels changed for the later sport models and you can use these but have to cut and angle the back near the rear quarter panel to fit properly. We do have the inner rocker panels available as well as the SKU numbers for those are 075-05L and 075-05R.

There reply is just as ambiguous as the website. Oh well, thank you for the update.

Yeah,
I talked to them on the phone this morning also... It was like pulling teeth to get an answer...

the guy had the personality of a dead fish.
I don't know how some companies stay it business with such unenthusiastic staff...

but anyway, I ordered the inners and outers... I'm told they will work..

maybe I'm missing something, but pretty much all the 4 door cherokees look the same to me....

sport or not...

but whatever... I got a welder and a set of torches and a few big *** hammers... LMAO... :D

John T 09-09-2015 10:18 AM

well,
It gets better...

Anyone know where else I can get an inner rocker panel? (Left side?)

Its been over 6 years and these things are still hodling up to tons of abuse. Both rear handels have been ripped off but they still open using the hole on the inside.

I suggest you place your request on a new post, perhaps titled "Need advice on prepurchase inspection".
I have a 1990 XJ. No scanner for that. maybe someone here can tell you what scanner is needed for a 1997, obd II or?

The big deal for inspection is rust and collision damage, along with paint. These can be the most expensive items to fix. rust can be well hidden. thick clats of undercoating can hide rust. a small rust bubble may be just the beginning of extensive hidden rust.

good luck.
