I live in Arkansas and it gets hot in the summer. Should I go with the 195 OE or the 180 high flow ? Thanks...

190 is the right one, I tried using a lower temp one and the thing ran like crap. I am in Maryland so obviously summers are different but using the lower temp thermostat did not help me.

Run an OEM 195. End of story. Search if you want to know more.

Colder thermostat =/= cooler engine.

The thermostat only sets the minimum running temp of an engine. It does NOTHING to combat overheating. In fact, if a thermostat could be said to combat anything, it only combats UNDERheating/overcooling.

A stock cooling system in good condition can keep the XJ 4.0 cool virtually anywhere in the world, and if yours doesn't, you need to FIX something, not throw "upgrades" at it.

195 Tstat. Period

Jeep made a extreme duty 180* thermostat.
The 180 will just open sooner than the 195*.
I have been running the 180 in PA for a year.
It's been great summer & winter.
I do not see any reason why the 180 would not be effective in your southern heat.

If you're having overheating problems, a colder thermostat will not help.

If you just need to replace your thermostat, use OEM or a Stant/Carquest 195 degree replacement.

Agreed with above. A 195* will be fully open before overheating. Running cold is not good for a bunch of reasons. Making sure it closes all the way cold, is a fault I found on one. Left a "crescent" of light when that (Napa, but not a Stant) waz suppose to be closed.

Three "struts" to hold the shaft are less likely to have the business not land right, are better than two. A cheap Scott recommends Mopar/Dealer stat there.
