Thank you pioneer and sony

The only fix for all the ticks and knocks on my cherokee is some good loud speakers

whvance 01-25-2012 11:40 PM

This thread made me lol.

Now... how to make the radio reduce oil leaking and overheating. If Sony or Pioneer does that, they'll make a killing from the XJ community.

Zach2610 01-25-2012 11:52 PM

That they will lol thats y savin for the alpine is slow....got bigger fish

I wish there was some sort of conversion to put a double din navi in the dash. Anyone know how one could be made to fit?

Yeah, I do believe there is a way to make it fit... More of a retrofit than a conversion kit however.. On the pre-96(I believe, not sure about later years), you can take out the center vent, move the climate control panel to the lowest slot, and then a double din system should be mountable. I have seen one with the "popout" style screen on an xj, tho I cant remember where i found the pic.. Should be sort of similar to this setup in the wrangler here..Probably a little more homebrew look in the xj however.

Again probably not quite what you had in mind, but its the only bit I can chip in...Short of cutting the dash up! :thumbup1:

sound is great

I am running a total kicker system 6.5" in both doors and back with one l3 solo baric. had to install an extra batt to keep the head lights from dimming. painted the jeep with raptor liner so no dyna mat needed. I love the looks I get pulling up to a red light blairing CCR

krazynezz 01-26-2012 10:55 AM

speaking of adding a battery how would you go about doing that and keeping it charged?

hidetheid 01-26-2012 11:44 AM

Its called an isolator they have them at part stores

krazynezz 01-26-2012 12:02 PM

so the isolator would get installed after the alternater right? then basically rewire the batteries in to the isolator?

hidetheid 01-26-2012 12:15 PM

U wire the alt to the isolator then wire the batters to it when u buy one it will come with diagrams

I ran 4 gauge wire from the batt to the rear (street wire kit) with a amp dist block. then use a sealed batt in a after market batt box. hooked the batt to a ground and then to the amp block. I'll take pics and upload them to my profile today...pics are loaded.
