Super simple to test our Renix Intake Air Temp sensor and Coolant Temp Sensor.
Use the handy chart below and avoid firing the Parts cannon at your Renix Jeep.

FWIW, the IATs can be removed and cleaned easily....

When removing the Renix engine block coolant temperature sensor, I assume coolant will escape upon removal of the sensor if the system is full, is this correct?

If so what is the thread size of the sensor? I will want to install a plug in place of the sensor while sensor is being tested in my pot of boiling water. Id kind of need to have the threaded plug ready to install before sensor removal, I got no spare sensor to use to determine thread size. Is it a pipe thread, or what?

No need to remove it. Compare it's ohms reading to block temp with a laser thermometer.

I dont have a laser sensor, but do have a pot of boiling water.

Then drain the coolant, pull the sensor, boil it, put it back in and refill the coolant.
If I weren't so lazy, I'd go out to my parts shed and see if I have one.

I disagree with you, I am much more lazy than you! that is why I want someone to tell me the thread size, ha, joke on me.....

I think it's 1/4 NPT, just like the block plugs.

Thanks! you rock! I have some sizes of npt pipe plugs here, I will have them handy when the sensor comes out.

I just replaced the heater hoses last week, I dont want to drain the system again, prior to that I did the pump, and thermostat maybe two months ago, along with the every two year flush and change. I am tired of smelling prestone in my garage! ( I am an old aircooled vw guy, radiators are from Mars to me, strange, weird, bothersome. )

I don't like the burning oil smell of leaking pushrod tube seals from my heater!!
