I'm gonna go to a couple local junk yards to look for an electric ac fan since mine is broken. Is there a way to test the fans to ensure they work before buying it?

well, just bring a battery jump pack with you and touch the leads to see if the fan kicks on. if it makes funny noises or doesnt do anything, it's trash. otherwise, its good. slap it in and hope.

I got a fan and it's installed today. I was wondering what temp. everyones electric fan kicks in at. My temp. seemed like it got a little too high before the fan turned on. It was probably at about 230* when it finally turned on.
