Temperature guage reading cold.

Have an issue..

My temp guage when only goes to the first line after the 100 mark when fully warmed up. It started doing this randomly recently and now it happens everytime I drive. I'm not sure what is causing it. Anyone know?

Note, new waterpump, radiator is fairly new + hoses etc... had to fill the coolant the other day it was below the low mark. Not sure if its because of the recent waterpump job I performed...

I'm going to swap out the plugs in the next couple of days and I wanted to know what to throw at it to fix this problem.

If your temp gauge is telling the truth then you might have a failed thermostat...

So I'll replace the thermostat, what else could it be?

Would like to add... I simply disconnected the temperature sender/reader type unit on top of the engine in the front right in front of the electric fan and my car now reads the correcte temp... right in the middle and the electric fan doesn't go crazy anymore trying to cool down an engine that doesn't think its warm enough... things are back to normal!
