I've never done a TC drop, but doesn't it involve spacing the crossmember down? If yes, than how about cutting off the bolt and welding a new nut on the frame? |
If you are talking about the crossmember just use some vice grips because as stated 2 bolts and 2 studs. In your original post you said t-case skid which is just 2 bolts in the crossmember and 2 bolts in the unibody. A crossmember and skid are two very different things, so make sure you are asking about the correct one.

Just went through this a few weeks ago. OK the two bolts just unscrew, if you can break them loose.
The two studs have little shoulders about midway down their length. These shoulders are just too big to fit through the crossmember holes. You have to lower the crossmember one side at a time to remove the studs. Now the frame threads are gonna likely be stripped. I used a hole saw to drill one inch holes through the sides of the frame rails to gain access to put top nuts on my new longer bolts. It is a bit of a trick, but you can do it. |

Yes your right, its the two bolts going into the unibody. Thats the one im inquiring about. I went to remove the skid and the bolt just kept turning and turning so im thinking can i just cut it off? or is there a weld nut in the unibody that i need to replace?
