Tell me about AW4 tailshaft housings - fluid pouring out of mine.
I'm loosing a ton of trans fluid, 2 quarts with every tank of fuel. Finally got to my friends shop today, and with Jeep running and in neutral, a have a stream of fluid running out the back of the trans and gets better/worse as I move the driveshaft up or down, lots of play in there. I'm guessing there's a rear seal or bushing or something in that tailshaft, and it looks like if I remove the mount and cross member, the tailshaft will unbolt right off but...there's NOTHING about it in my old Haynes manual so, thought I'd ask here before I start disassembly.
