I googled thoroughly before I did my drain & fill with a filter change and was prepared to add 4qts back into the tranny and be at full again, however after draining and replacing the filter it took almost 5 1/2qts to get me back full, just out of curiousity would having a aftermarket cooler with extended lines make this difference or what would it be??? I know the tranny was full when I started so that's not it and I know I should have my ***** kicked for not measuring what came out.

Yes, an aftermarket cooler can add that much but I doubt it.

Was the transmission warm when you checked it?

Warm before I drained when I checked it and warm after the drain when I checked it. It just really has me curious has to why a quart and a half more than 95% of people report. I did leave the trany open for nearly three hours while I cleaned the pan and ran some errands but I don't think that would've affected anything, I know I will defiantly be measuring on the next change.

If you've driven it and it didn't start puking fluid everywhere and you still have the correct reading on the stick then you'll be fine. You must have one hell of a cooler on it.

It's a fairly decent size it was installed by the po, also does anyone know if they make a aftermarket torque converter for this I was told he installed one whenever he added the tranny cooler. There is a lot of things I'm having to figure out about this thing I went from a tj to play with to a race boat and ended back up with a xj and I have to say I'm loving the xj so far
