Alright guys this doesnt have to do with my XJ but my buddys KJ. Hes got a NP231 in it and last night something odd happened.
He was driving home and his little brother shifted it into 4hi without him noticing then when he got into his driveway he put it back into 2hi and the whole thing froze up his jeep would not move i told him to put everything in neutral and put it on level ground and it still wouldnt move so he fiddled with the t case lever a little bit and there was a loud POP and finally was able to move but what had happened was that it was in 4lo but the lever was only in 4hi
It was pretty weird and we were getting woried I thought it was his T Case linkage but im not sure what do you all think
*keep in mind that this is a 07 and it shouldnt be having this problem*

The lever still shows he is in 4hi?

Once it "popped" he should have been able to shift back into 2hi i'm thinking.

I'm sure it's still under warranty, if it were mine and still had an issue i'd consider taking it in.
