t-case
Hey does any one know if a 1998 Jeep Cherokee sport's transfer case will fit into a 1989 Cherokee sport?
Is it the same t case do the jeeps have the same motor, transmission..... More u know the more we know
Yeah same motor and trany but different year
I'd say ur good to go

The main concern is the input gear length and spline count matching.
This might help: http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...nput_gears.htm |
i just did this swap but with a wrangler. the input shaft was about a inch longer than i needed so i just grinded it down til it fit. now it works great. need help just pm me
Spline count on an 89 should be 21 and on the 98 should be 23. No worky.
OK well could I rebuild the 98 tcase with the 89 spline
The only this u would have to switch it the input shaft i believe.
So if I rebuild the 98 and put the 98 intake shaft it should work

No. The 98 input shaft is 23 spline. Your 89 is 21.

Did you mean "if I rebuild the 98 and put the 89 intake..... |
No like if I take out the tcase out of the 98 and rebuild it with 89 spline and intake shaft so the spline match up would that work?
