Swap Body?

I have a question and am not sure where to post it. I have a 1997 cherokee108000 mi and a '98 251000 mi the 98 body is great the 97 came from new york and has cancer real bad is it impossiable to change bodys?

The XJ is a uni body construction so it is not a body on frame construction, hence you cannot swap the bodies.

I do not know enough of the differences between 97 and 98 to be able to suggest what you can swap for the engine/transmission/transfercase/axles from the 97 to the 98. The issues may be with the emissions.

Not impossible but it Wouldn't be worth it. Why not swap the engine?
