Well its a uni-body (no frame) so you are limited to a suspension lift.

It's actually baest that we (XJ owners) are limited to suspension lifts because body lifts suck.

Okay before everyone starts in on the OP---DON'T

Our specific Jeep, Cherokee, is of the unibody design.
There is no "frame".
Therefore the only type of lift will be a suspension lift.
This is a common misconception because of the moniker 'JEEP"

I would recommend a 3-3.5" lift, a set of 31"x10.5 A/T's mainly because of the DD status

There is a feature that allows you to keep from asking questions like these...

Its the 7th from the left called Search.

Should help with a LOT of your questions.

We also have a lovely tool called a BAN...

I just want to say this all users are welcome to ask questions that is how we learn. We don't simply tell them to search that's not what we are about. I will not tolerate members being rude to others so I suggest you check your attitude at the door or don't open the door.

That's a banable offense? First I want to say "I was joking around".........And I've been wanting to start a thread about the "Just use the search tool" crowd........it's rather annoying especially when you use search to see some pix of other peoples ideas of what they built........and those pix don't come up because the img host service moved or took the pix down..........Now this isn't just this place that has a "Just use the search tool" crowd, it's every board no matter what industry your in.........But to threaten with a banning because someone suggested to use search is ridiculous........maybe they where tryin to be rude, but hey when you where in school did they kick out a kid because that kid called someone a jerk........

no they didn't kick them out.... but they did get to go talk to the principle
my agreement is with the CF administrator..... if the quesiton is dumd to you then don't answer........
we are supposed to be here to help other less eduacted jeepers out there... share our wisdom and advice not be-liddle someone for asking what we would think to be a silly question only because we know better so go somewhere else and be the school bully
and plus, the guy said he's new so give him a break.... everyone has to start somewhere

Technically you could body lift it. You would just need to put a frame under it.

Sorry had too.

alot of companies sell budget lifts for cherokees that consist of coil spacers and rear shackles.... but you might want to also upgrade the shocks.... you usually get about 1-1/2" tp 2" of lift. pretty inexpensive and might be what your looking.... check out Rusty's Offroad - Rough Country - or Skyjackers websites for more info

I have tried the search box myself on certain things I was looking for and everything came up except what I was looking for.

x2, alot of times the search yields no answer without setting here reading post for hours on end to end up empty handed. it usually takes the complainers longer to reply a useless post rather than to just forget about it.
