I dont know for sure but I thought you can use really anything....Like the Rough Country 3" with full leaf packs would be a good set up that wont break the bank....idk for sure though....lol....but what i do know for sure is that they do not make body lifts for cherokees so you dont have to worry bout that since the cherokee is a unibody.

You cant do a stupid body lift anyways.. the XJ is a uni-body so the "frame" and body are one.. however the 4wd lifts will work on the 2wd as they share the same suspension setup.

Any Jeep Cherokee lift will work whether you have a 2wd or 4wd. Only difference is no transfercase and a solid tube front axle. Other then that they are the same.

Yeah there is no difference. Order up any lift you want and it will fit. And there is nothing wrong with having a lifted 2wd so don't worry about any hell you could get.

hey forest. I've got a '94 2wd. I bought a 3" lift from zoneoffroad. Very ggod quality lift, and they are part of BDS suspension. competetive price too, and it's all made in the USA! Don't think your any different by having a 2wd XJ. I know that with my XJ, I got the 3" lift, and when I find the time, and right price, I'm going to turn mine into a 4wd, yes it can be done, just alot of work. But, if your into XJ's and mods, you'll do what ever you want with your XJ. My XJ's frame and body are in really good shape, no rot at all. Thats why I'm choosing to make mine a 4wd, instead of buying another XJ that I'm not sure on, and staerting all over again. Like they say......JEEP......Just Empty Every Pocket...... All the 4wd lifts will fit the 2wd.

Good luck man

HAHAHA.. Sad to say. Im that guy ^^^^. LOL. But in my defense got a great deal on the jeep. I bought it in 2003. It's was a 01 2wd with 46000 miles on it and I got it for 6500. I was happy. I found a front axle transfer case and drive shaft for 500 from a wrecked xj and was going to convert it. though I never did get it done. So yes. I was the idiot who lifted a 2wd Xj 4.5". LOL please its ok to laugh.. haha

I think you need to slow down and do some more research!! Those guys doing these races going that fast over stuff have good expensive lifts that preload when they hit ****. No chance a 2wd open diff keeps up with any 4wd on any actual trails
