Default Submerged my XJ axles last weekend,Changed diff fluid and have questions

So last Staurday I got bogged down on the diffs in a deep water/mud hole. My xj has 32's,a 4.5 inch lift and the tires were totally underwater, luckily the water didnt come over the rockers and I was able to open the door without a bunch of water pouring in.

It was suggested by the guy that pulled me out, that I drain and refill my diffs.

I drained my front, and yellowish, nasty milkshake came pouring out.

The rear was normal,no milkshake, just a normal color of diff fluid.

Why would my front diff fluid be a nasty color and the rear be normal, when both diffs were submerged?

Do I have leaking components up front?

Breather hose is disconnected or broken, or axle seals are bad. In Front the hose comes off the back of pumkin and runs up the firewall by the brake booster. Its the hose with the plastic hat on it. Front also more suseptable to water do to the seals location. If you were that deep you should do the trany fluid and motor oil also.

cant say for all axles.
but my front dana 30 has a red breather nipple on the back upper right side.
take a hose clamp it to that and run the hose somewhere where it wont suck in water

it happens from heat and cool
the diffs will be warm then they submerge in cool water and cool real quick so they suck in water..

and as far as why the rear it didnt happen
again cant say for all axles but my rear 8.25 has a factory installed breather hose that comes out by the brake hose on the driver side of the diff on top of the axle tube. and it goes into the frame. for me that still wasnt far enough so i routed it up into my cabin.
im gonna guess that it was enough for you tho.
